Are Automated Trucks In The Near Future

This reminds me of a really good 80s sci-fi drama. The Economist is talking about the success of automated vehicles, especially trucks in the military. And When I say automated I mean...........

Robotic, human free, autonomous, pilot-less

You get the point. If the military is using it, the private sector will not be far behind. Who knows at some point you might see HOV lanes coverted into Robot Truck or Car hauler lanes that move trucks back and forth without human error, unions, expenses, etc.

it should be interesting

  1. The thought is absolutely terrifying. A similar story was discussed on 60 minutes Sunday night. What are people going to do in the future if robotics is taking over. We've already lost so many jobs, but the transportation and medical industry have remained safe, now we have robots performing surgical assistance and trucks that drive themselves?
